PROVIDORE
Providore Fine Foods is the anchor tenant of The Shore, an adaptive reuse project on NE Sandy Blvd and 24th Ave in Portland. The project was built in collaboration with Guerrilla Development, who we also worked closely with on The Ocean, directly adjacent to The Shore. The existing buildings were a complex of auto garages which we retrofitted as restaurant, retail and residential loft spaces. Providore is the largest tenant, with nearly 5000 SF of open food market space in addition to a large commercial kitchen. They sell a finely curated selection of local and imported foods, including fresh pasta and bread, fish, meats, produce and cheeses. We also incorporated an extensive wine room into the design, as well as a full scale commercial kitchen for their prepared foods department. As part of the retrofit, we re-roofed the building, bringing it up to seismic and energy code compliance. We also sandblasted the old growth wood framing, and ran all new plumbing, electrical and HVAC throughout the building. Site design and new exterior signage completed the renovation. A structure that was a vacant for years has now been given a second act, and now provides an outstanding new amenity for the neighborhood.
