GROUND KONTROL ANNEX
Ground Kontrol is a one-of-a-kind barcade in Portland's Old Town/Chinatown. We helped the iconic bar renovate and expand their footprint as they took over the adjacent tenant suite with a new connecting passageway through the load bearing masonry wall. The existing URM structure provided challenges as well as opportunities for a unique architectural expression, such as full-height interior windows, a completely custom bar, and new HVAC integrated into the design. This project was the result of a collaboration with Jessica Helgerson Interior Design. Ground Kontrol is located in the Technology & Arts Block, where we have done work for other tenants and completed a building-wide Fire and Life Safety Summary for the City of Portland.
